If you wore butterfly hair clips in your hair in a neat little row, while listening to your walkman, this post may trigger some serious 90s memories. I used to rock those little iridescent butterfly hair clips. And I had all the colors, too. My bathroom was stock with them from clear ones, solid ones, glittery ones, you name it, I had them. I wore them all the time. And while trends always seem to come back every so often, I definitely wasn’t expecting Gen Z to rock the mini butterfly hair clip. But they are. Even if trends come back, they don’t have to be exactly the same. You won’t be catching me in any tiny butterfly hairclips anytime soon. But I will be rocking some 90s inspired hair clips instead.
My Favorite 90s Inspired Hair Clips
While visiting New Orleans, I stopped into this cute little shop in the Garden District. They had several really cute resin hair clips with yin and yang symbols on them. I was instantly taken back to my childhood where the yin and the yang ruled fashion. I loved the clips so much I had to have them. They brought me instant joy. If that isn’t a reason to buy something, I don’t know what is. I haven’t felt that compelled to buy something in forever.
So on I went with my new little yin and yang hair clip that I now love to wear all the time. It’s got me so in love with the hair clip trend that I’m dying to add more to my collection. I’m someone who really likes to rock a half up and a clip makes it super easy. And now that my hair is a tad longer, I can actually put my entire head of hair into them again. Major throwback! These are some of my favorite 90s inspired hair clips to shop right now.
